So Jesus knocked on the door of your heart. Now what?
So, Jesus has knocked on the door of your heart, and now you may be wondering what comes next. The beauty of this encounter lies in its simplicity – all that is needed is that you believe that God the Father sent God the Son to Earth. The Son (Jesus) lived a perfect life and He died a terrible death on the Cross taking my sin and your sin upon Himself. On the Third Day, He rose again.
I want you to know that there is no hidden agenda here. I am just one person, much like a beggar showing another beggar where to find bread. As you embark on this journey, know that I am praying for you and cheering you on, alongside the angels. I am far from perfect and have made my fair share of mistakes, and I continue to do so. But here's the wonderful thing: you don't need to attain perfection to have a relationship with Him. If you have any questions along the way, please don't hesitate to reach out. You can send an email to [email protected] and I will do my best to respond.
Start your relationship with Him.
We begin our relationship when we BELIEVE that God the Father sent God the Son to Earth to live a perfect life. He died for my sins and your sins on the Cross. On the Third Day He rose from the dead. For more information, read this short booklet I wrote.
We express our worship to Him through various means. Singing spiritual songs, immersing ourselves in His teachings through the Bible, spending time in prayer, and seeking community are just a few ways we can honor and connect with Him. Together, let us explore the boundless ways to worship and grow in our relationship with Jesus.
Singing spiritual songs back to Him
Even if you don't consider yourself a singer, He hears the sincerity of your heart. These songs are a beautiful way to affirm biblical truth and offer praise to the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit for their incredible work in our lives. They serve as a means to glorify God and express gratitude for all He has done for us. To discover a collection of spiritual songs that will deepen your connection with God, we invite you to explore this curated Spotify playlist. You can also check out my songs.
Spending time with Jesus in the Bible.
If you find yourself in the position of never having read the Bible before, it can feel daunting to know where to begin. Thankfully, there are numerous excellent resources available today to assist you on your journey. In the meantime, if you need a convenient way to access the Bible, consider utilizing the YouVersion Bible App, which is available for free on various mobile App Stores. Additionally, I recommend starting with a translation that is easy to understand, such as the NLT (New Living Translation). To embark on your reading, I suggest beginning with the Gospel of John. As you engage with the text, invite Jesus to guide your understanding and reveal what He desires you to know about Himself.
Spending Time With Jesus In Prayer
Spending time with Jesus in prayer is a simple and intimate experience. It's a conversation where you can approach God as you would a dear Friend, with respect, love, and a genuine desire for a deeper relationship. In prayer, you have the freedom to be honest and share the depths of your heart, knowing that He is always listening and ready to engage with you.
Spending time with Jesus in Community.
God wants to give us opportunities to love our neighbor and we do this in community. As you search for a community (church), here are some questions to ask yourself:
1. Do they believe Jesus is the only way, died for your sins, and rose again from the grave?
2. Do they teach the Bible?
3. Do they obviously love Jesus and people?
4. Do they show grace to others more than judgement?
5. Do they really worship Jesus, rather than perform?
6. Do they perform water baptism?
